Possibly Closing This Blog.
I am thinking of closing down this blog. It really hasn't taken off the way I'd hoped it would and I am not sure how to "push" it to get it going any better.
There are a few people following....do you have any ideas/suggestions? Do you want this blog to continue?

Being Deeply Loved: Quote for October 4, 2012
QUOTE:
Being deeply loved by someone
gives you strength,
while loving someone deeply
gives you courage.
--Lao Tzu
Happy Birthday Mom! Today's artwork is just for you -- a teal butterfly and a quote to thank you for being the mom you are!
Actually I have a second quote for you today! It was my first choice but too long to fit on the image!
May the wings of the butterfly kiss the sun.
And find your shoulder to light on.
To bring you luck, happiness and riches.
Today, tomorrow and beyond.
--Irish Blessing

The More One Gives: Quote for October 3, 2012
![]() | |||||
| Background by Kitty |
QUOTE:
The
more one gives,
the more one has to give.
--
Anne Morrow Lindbergh
Okay, maybe it sounds hokey, and maybe I can come off as a "Pollyanna" sometimes.....
Truthfully, I do believe that people are basically good, honest and caring. In my heart and in my mind we CAN learn to live peacefully with anyone, even if that means unlearning the thought and behaviors that prevent us from doing so. And I believe that giving to others is truly important, not just for those who receive our gift, but for ourselves. Giving, whether it is monetary or material, or helping in some other way, allows us the opportunity to become better people. Giving increases our understanding of others. And it also feels good and right.
Which is why it seems that "The more one gives, the more one has to give."

One's Destination: Quote for October 2, 2012
Quote:
One's destination is never a place,
but a new way of seeing things.
--Henry Miller
I'll probably never see Paris. I am certain that flying across the Atlantic Ocean to France, or any other part of Europe, would be an amazing experience.
It's just not a trip that I can foresee myself taking...
I could be hang-dog sad about the missed opportunity to see the Eiffel Tower in person, but I quickly realize how fortunate I am to be able to connect with the entire world through the internet! Not just that but I am able to vicariously visit France in multiple ways --- I can view Paris in the past through postcards such as the vintage one above, I can view parts of the Louvre from my comfy chair or pick up a guidebook to Paris and read, bringing the text to life navigating the streets and alleys in my mind Or I can take a more reasonable trip and return to my home town of New Orleans and find shades and tastes of France imbued in the culture there.
Looking at what you have or can attain with a positive attitude can make the difference between being happy and being sad. And I am a firm believe that it is ALWAYS better to "Choose Happy."
So, no, I may never set foot in France but I won't cry over it. I may get to visit Miami soon. That excites me very much. But it's not about the place....but looking at the situation in a "new" way that makes all the difference.

Listen from Within...: Quote for October 1, 2012
![]() |
| ATC designed by Kitty |
QUOTE:
Listen from within,
your heart knows the way.
--Unknown
Hey y'all! Sorry for the pesky little "hiatus" I was compelled to take but never fear -- like a weed in your day's garden, I have returned! :)
Like many of the quotes I love and post, this one sounds soooooo easy. Just listen from within......okay, yeah..much easier said than done! How can we listen from within when we are being bombarded by so much input from WITHOUT! We are almost powerless to avoid being influenced by multiple forms of media and society in general. This is not all bad. We stay better informed, are more able to to make intelligent choices..... But we need to take care that we never lose sight of what our heart is telling us. Those little voices inside of us are there for a reason. Keeping in touch with what they say is important -- whether that is s simple as wearing a flower in your hair today or to examine your life and find a way to embrace your dreams and FLY!
Always keep your inner ear open!

In Art there Are No Mistakes: Quotte for September 24, 2012
![]() |
| Lovely Text Styling from Elegant Word Art by Bethany |
QUOTE:
In art there are no mistakes,
only opportunities for creativity.
--Unknown
Or as my good friend and mentor Lorrie Jonas always says there are no mistakes, only "happy accidents". Both of which are different ways of saying that we learn and get experience from even the creations that don't turn out the way we thought they would or the way we wanted them to turn out. The lesson is not to fear making a mistake but to realize it for the opportunity that it is and to learn from it.
Some days it does turn out that from our "happy accidents" we produce something that's actually BETTER than we were aiming for and we've had a great opportunity to stretch ourselves creatively.
If you've had a happy accident that you would like to share, please send it on in and I will post it here.
